Today in our interdisciplinary hospice team meeting, I am sharing a story - it is a book about death called Duck, Death and the Tulip, written by German author and award winning illustrator Wolf Erlbruch. The book tells the story of Duck, who is a bit nervous around her new friend, Death. But Death proves to be a gentle companion, if a bit lacking in empathy . . . This story is very sweetly illustrated by the author, and it's simple message brings a tender, benevolent view of the phenomenon we all face: that we will one day die. . . "That's life" says Death. Though this book is presented as a children's story, every adult I have shared it with so far has loved it so much they have bought a copy for themselves. Take a look - maybe you will too. You can VIEW or ORDER IT HERE. Wishing you sweet awareness of the falling leaves and turning seasons, With Love, Maya
