(put MOON in the subject line)
All are invited to rest and renewal, release and remembering, connection to your inner wisdom and inspiration.
Whether for personal regeneration or to replenish for your work in the world, our Moon Meditations are an offering of
space and time to return to your deep self and to recall your true identity.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A brief welcome, time to settle in, a guided journey lasting between 20-40 minutes, with a brief sharing afterwards if you wish.
Usually, the entire experience will last between 60-90b minutes. Monthly Moon Meditations are focused around a Moon theme, and the idea that returning to our own hearts is central to health and well-being on all levels. (Scroll down for brief info on Benefits of Heart-Based meditation.)
PREPARATION
Please make sure you have zoom installed on your device. (You may download zoom HERE.)
Take some time to prepare a gentle space for yourself for the event; low lighting, a comfy chair or meditation cushion, or place to lie down. Have a blanket and drinking water nearby. Some participants like to have pen and paper or a way to type notes at hand.

If you join the mailing list, you will also receive the zoom link in a reminder email
a day or so before the date of each Monthly Moon Meditation.
AFTERWARDS
If possible, schedule restful time following the Moon Meditation. See if you can maintain any benefit you gained as you re-enter your outer world. Maya concludes all meditations with an invitation to place one hand upon your belly and one on your heart to ground what you have experienced spiritually into your physical body. Often, repeating this gesture even days after a Meditation will realign you with a tangible memory of the deeper aspects of the self.
Barring technical glitches, recordings of Monthly Moon Meditations will be posted soon!

🌛🌕🌜 UPCOMING MMM DATES 🌛🌕🌜
March 15 (3rd Saturday):
Hello Dear Monthly Moon Meditation Friends,
Monthly Moon Meditations meet at 5PM(Pacific), 8PM(Eastern), Usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

THIS SATURDAY, March15th
Come with your pillows and blankets, by daylight, moonlight or candlelight
(or whatever makes you feel comfy and connected) for
A JOURNEY of LISTENING;
Deepen or remind yourself of your body’s wisdom and innate impulse to guide you toward well-being.
Body as Barometer: Our bodies are enormously sensitive, receptive and responsive to all we encounter, and they have something to say about all of it! With each interaction, there are – if we are willing and able to perceive these – subtle or not-so-subtle messages our bodes offer us. These are not, as much of Western society would have us believe, quirks to be ignored. To the contrary, understanding the body’s messages is key to our well-being on every level. Yet too often this simple and most basic wisdom has been ignored or actively dismissed for so long that many of us have forgotten that it is ours to access.
In these times that call upon us each to engage in the outer world so intensely, it is my view that more than ever we need to create time and space to RE-MEMBER ourselves to the
most basic and crucial guidance-tool we have: Our Bodies.
This month, I hope to offer us a space in which to reconnect with our bodies’ wisdom and to strengthen our understanding of its ways of communicating with us, and how we might honor these.
Join us, as we relax deeply into the subtle yet persistently available barometer that is our physical form.
How do YOU perceive your body’s messages? How does your body express dis-harmony or affirmation, and how does your understanding unfold into small plans of action that move you toward well-being?
In such times as we are facing on our Earth today, this connection to our body-intuition may be lifesaving.
This is by no means a requirement for this gathering, but if you wish, I always suggest setting out an offering of some sort before we meet – this month perhaps planting a seed on a windowsill as a reminder to tend to what is growing within and without you… or placing out a full bodied fruit, which you may consume after our gathering as a way of nourishing your body in thanks for its wisdom, or you might choose to gift the fruit to critters outside seeking sustenance as they await spring. As our ritualists know, making offerings often deepens the work we do to follow.
Just to be sure all are aware, there are NO PREREQUISITES to this gathering; Come exactly as you are! With your joy or sorrow, peace or rage, excitement or indifference, energy or fatigue. . . Whether we are three, thirty or
three-hundred matters not – all are most welcome, and I will be so delighted to see you there!
Much Love,
Maya

BENEFITS OF HEART-BASED MEDITATION:
Physical:
Healthier immune system, enhanced organ function,
balanced endocrine system, activation of parasympathetic nervous system
Emotional:
General emotional well-being, equanimity under stress,
quicker self-regulation, less ‘triggerable’, ease in expressiveness, sense of worthiness
Intellectual:
Clarity of thinking, rapid access to knowledge, more reliable intuitive process,
sharper memory, creative problem solving and idea-making
Spiritual:
More accessible connection to whatever you hold most sacred; God, Nature, Science,
or the simple, mundane beauty of our precious moments here on Earth.
Meditations are best experienced in a quiet, still environment, preferably with earphones, ringers and dingers silenced, doors locked and friends and family advised to leave you for a time. It can be nice to bathe, put on something comfy and perhaps dim lights, and do whatever else brings you a sense of reverence.
You may tune in with eyes open or closed, sitting or lying down.
(PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN WHILE DRIVING OR DOING ANY TASK REQUIRING YOUR FULL ATTENTION.)
You may invite others to be present with you as you; more than one person entering into heart-resonance can enhance the experience.
Many meditations below are intentionally short - simple to learn and use in daily life. I suggest that you trust your intuition in choosing; scan the list and choose the title or description that whispers to you. You can listen to as many as you wish, but generally, learning and using one at a time, over time, allows you the most benefit.
Pay attention to what you feel in your heart area; the more you come to trust your heart's deepest knowing,
the more peace and presence you will allow to flow within you.
MAY YOU FIND THE GATEWAYS THAT SERVE YOU!
Much Love,
Rev. Maya

Listening for a "Heart-YES" Meditation (4.56 minutes) with Maya is a simple, beginner's meditation designed to assist you in connecting with your heart's messages to you. Our hearts are designed to be consistent and dependable barometers for our well-being and are continuously "reading" our situation; your heart can always tell you if someone or something is "good" for your well-being - or if it is not. Society offers us may reasons to override that clear and simple knowing. Learn to listen to - and follow the direction of - this elemental human heart-message and you will begin to see an increase in your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

A slightly more elaborate version of Heart Breathing; once you learn it, Elevator Heart Resonance Meditation with Maya is a practice you can use anywhere, any time. It offers a very simple method to drop down out of the busy world, bringing your body, emotional state, mind and spirit into alignment with your heart's rhythm. This state is known as "coherence" or holistic resonance. New science measures the electromagnetic energy field of the heart to be many times greater than that of the brain, and shows us that body and mind in resonance with the heart will dramatically increase well-being on all levels.

This short meditation can re-set your mood, assist you in building more positivity-focused neuropathways in your brain and generally bring you a greater sense of well-being. Once considered the terrain of "airy-fairy" or "new-age" folk, the experience of focusing on Gratitude is now recognized by neuroscience as the powerful tool it is; your key to neuroplasticity - the ability to CHANGE the way your brain/heart/body function. Try this quick and simple meditation three times a day for two weeks and see if you notice a change in the way you experience life, interaction with others, and healthy love of yourself.

Slightly longer than some of the others here, this Simple Body Relax is designed to offer you a safe, smooth passage into deep sleep, relief from stress or just a gentle rest from the stresses of daily life. As always, any time and space that allows you time within and to yourself is time and space that is contributing to your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being; all aspects of Self, breathed into alignment with your HEART, will always bring you more peace and balance.

This very simple hand placement meditation is designed to offer you a quick and deep whole-self regulation in times of intense stress, acute trauma or while processing deep wounding from the past. In times of great anxiety, we often experience a sense of separation from our bodies - this CONTAINMENT exercise assists the brain in re-locating the body and guides us in re-connecting with the safety always available within us.

It includes more physical movements that promote a sense of connection to the body, deep CONTAINMENT, and self-regulation in times of stress, anxiety, and both acute and chronic trauma processing. Use this when you wish to reconnect to your inner-self, regather your sense of presence, or simply calm your being as you prepare for light rest or deep sleep.
Clear, Present & Replenished; A Somatic Triplet Exercise (2:02)
Note: This video requires a password to view. The password is: heartful
This is a video of a very brief series of three exercises you can do (or share with others) when recovering from trauma, in need of stress-relief or simply to unwind at the end of your day. The first part offers a clearing of energy you no longer need; the second part invites you to become present by connecting to yourself in this moment and to a sense of safety. The final part opens you to allowing replenishment to flow to and through your being. Practice all three or choose just one if you are in a hurry. You will (after the date) also find instructions for this exercise written out, in the October 19th, 2022 Blog post.

The heart tells the brain how we are; the brain tells the body how to react. Take a few minutes to breathe into some healthy affirmations; perhaps you might find one or two that bring you a sense of well-being, fulfilment or freedom.
Offer yourself this brief rest from stress. . . your whole being might just say "thank you" for allowing it some replenishment.

We all experience a loss of parts of self now and then - what happened to that playful aspect I once had? Where has my creative self gone? Where are the days when i was able to be active all the time, or even get out of bed without creaking? Can we find and re-integrate those parts of ourselves? Come along on a little journey of self reclamation.
